Who is responsible

ServeGPT is operated by Eli Riedel, doing business as ServeGPT, in the United States. We're the controller of your personal data. Contact: support@servegpt.org.

What we collect

Account details: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Apple or Google and choose to share it. Apple's "Hide My Email" addresses work too.

Your content: chats, files and photos you attach, recordings you make for dictation or notes, documents and other things you create, your profile, memories and settings.

Usage: how many messages, images and voice minutes you use (to apply daily limits and count meals), your plan and purchase status, and basic diagnostics such as crash reports.

Location: only while you turn it on, rounded to about 1 km, sent with a message to answer weather and nearby questions. We don't store it.

Product analytics: if "Share analytics" is on (Settings › Data controls), a few named events such as "opened the app" or "viewed the Pro plan", tied to an opaque account ID. Never message text. IP addresses are discarded.

We don't collect contacts, precise location, health data or advertising identifiers, and we don't sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How we use it

To run ServeGPT: answer your messages, sync your chats across devices, apply limits, process payments, count meals, keep ServeGPT secure and prevent abuse (performance of our contract with you).

To improve ServeGPT: understand which features are used and fix crashes (our legitimate interest; you can turn analytics off).

To contact you about your account, your subscription and important changes. We'll ask before sending marketing email.

To meet legal duties, such as tax records and responding to valid legal requests.

AI processing

To answer you, your message and the relevant parts of the chat are sent to our servers and to an AI model provider. Providers process it only to produce the answer and may keep it briefly for abuse monitoring under their terms. We don't use your chats to train our own models, and where a provider offers the choice we opt out of training on your data.

Ads

Free answers show a labeled sponsored card. Advertisers never see your conversation. Faith, grief, health and other personal conversations are never used to choose ads, and crisis replies show no ad. Pro removes ads. If an ad network or tracking is ever added, we'll ask for permission first where the law or Apple requires it.

Who helps us (service providers)

Hosting and data: Supabase (database, sign-in, file storage), Cloudflare (website hosting, DNS, email forwarding, bot protection).

AI and tools: OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to (writing answers), Groq (fast models and speech-to-text), Runware (images), Speechify (voices), Parallel, Keiro and Jina (web search and reading pages), Apple MapKit and WeatherKit (maps and weather).

Accounts and payments: Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases), Google (Google sign-in), RevenueCat (subscription status), and the web checkout provider shown at payment.

Operations: Resend (account emails), Sentry (crash and error reports), PostHog (product analytics), Better Stack (uptime monitoring). If we add advertising or ad measurement (for example Meta), we'll update this list and ask permission where required.

Each provider may only use your data to provide its service to us, under a data-processing agreement where required.

How long we keep it

Chats, files and memories: until you delete them or your account. Private chats aren't saved. Guest data: until you delete it in Settings. [Before launch: automatic removal of guest sessions inactive for 90 days.] Payment and tax records: as long as the law requires (usually 7 years). Crash reports and analytics: up to 90 days and 1 year respectively.

Shared links

A shared link is encrypted in your browser; the key is part of the link and never reaches our servers. Anyone with the link can read that snapshot until you delete it in Settings › Data controls › Shared links.

Your choices and rights

In Settings you can export your data, archive or delete chats, delete memories, turn off analytics or AI processing, and delete your account.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, California and other US states), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Email support@servegpt.org; we'll answer within 30 days and won't treat you differently for asking. You can also complain to your data-protection authority.

California: we don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use sensitive personal information except to provide the service.

International transfers

We're based in the US and our providers process data in the US and other countries. Where data leaves the EU or UK we rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum, or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Children

ServeGPT is for people 13 and older (or older where local law requires). We don't knowingly collect data from younger children; if you think a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to what each part of the service needs, and passwords that appear in known breaches are rejected. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at support@servegpt.org if you find a problem.

Changes

We'll post the date of each change at the top of this page and tell you in the app or by email about important changes.
